Hey! My name is Stella and I’m a first-generation student in my third year of college, majoring in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with minors in both Human Development & Family Science and Consciousness Studies. I’m extremely passionate about psychology, with a major emphasis in neurodevelopmental issues in infancy and early childhood and the goal of earning a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. When I’m not studying or working one of my jobs as a Peer Mentor here at Thrive or a research assistant for the Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) lab, you can find me thrifting or hanging out with my cat, Sophie. As someone who has dealt with severe challenges related to finances, health, and finding community here at the University, I know how difficult it can be to find your place here and truly believe that this is somewhere you can belong and succeed. So, whether you’re exploring whether or not STEM is right for you, picking out the right courses to take, or just need someone to reassure you that this is a place you can make work for you, I promise that I’ll do my best to help you in any way that I can.
