First-year UA Hispanic Alumni scholars should be aware that first-year requirements have been updated to reduce the burden on you and your time.  Before, the requirements listed on the website stated students needed to enroll in HED 297 AND complete two Thrive Treks and 3 Mentoring Mashups.  We will, instead, only require enrollment in HED 297 and no longer require participation in the Thrive Treks or Mentoring Mashups -- although, you are more than welcome to attend.

HED 297 Course

HED 297 will begin October 20, 2025, and is a second session, seven-week course for 1 unit.  The class will be led by Celeste Vega Torres, graduate assistant with Thrive Peer Mentoring, and doctoral student in the School Psychology program in the College of Education.  The class will meet Mondays from 3:00pm to 3:50 p.m. in Bear Down 104.

There are a few students who have course conflicts with the course time.  They will need to attend 2 Thrive Treks and 3 Mentoring Mashups in lieu of enrolling in HED 297. Your plan will be updated to reflect this.

CatCloud

The UAHA website on the Thrive website remains the most accurate list of your scholarship requirements, but there is now a new place where you can see all of the requirements listed and whether or not they have been completed.  Just go to CatCloud at catcloud.arizona.edu and login.  Then click on "Plans" at the top to show all of your personal program plans.  You should then see a plan for your specific year of UAHA Scholars.

The team at New Start used CatCloud plans for incoming New Start students this year, and we made a short video overview to walk students through how to access their plans.  You can see the short video below.  As always, you can reach us anytime by emailing peermentoring@arizona.edu or visit us in Thrive Center.
