We host a campus-wide First Cats Mixer every year in late January to promote First Cats pride and awareness. The First Cats Mixer features speakers, student testimonials, networking, and community building.

Our First Cats Family Welcome is a celebration for incoming First Cats and their families at the UA.

We hosted our inaugural First Cats Family Welcome in September 2019 with over 170 first-generation college students and their families in attendance. First Cats students and their families were welcomed by UA President Robbins, had the opportunity to meet other First Cats from across the state, and showcased their First Cats pride at the first football game of the season.

A special thank you to Wildcat Welcome, the Parent & Family Association, Arizona Athletics, and Student Union Memorial Center for making our inaugural First Cats Family Welcome so memorable.

The First Cats Professional Development Series is an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your skills to support First Cats.

In Spring of 2020 and Summer of 2020, First Cats offers professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and community members to learn about First Cats experiences at the UA, gain knowledge about the dynamic first-generation college community at national and local levels, and practice asset-based approaches to supporting First Cats at UA. Professional development trainings are now offered as a First-Gen Introductory session and hosted by Thrive Center-First Cats staff.  Professional development trainings will be offered via Zoom in an online platform and return Fall 2021.
