A live link will be available on this page 1 day before the event.  We promise you a fall themed chill session to craft, play games, and build community.

No specific materials needed for crafts.. You can use your computer, phone, or materials around you. You pick! Zoom "doors open" at 12pm and 5pm; event starts at 12:10pm and 5:10pm. You can stay for 5 minutes, an hour. It is your choice. All first-gen students and their supporters are welcome. Our First Cats Family Welcome is a celebration for incoming First Cats and their families at the UA.

We hosted our inaugural First Cats Family Welcome in September 2019 with over 170 first-generation college students and their families in attendance. First Cats students and their families were welcomed by UA President Robbins, had the opportunity to meet other First Cats from across the state, and showcased their First Cats pride at the first football game of the season.

A special thank you to Wildcat Welcome, the Parent & Family Association, Arizona Athletics, and Student Union Memorial Center for making our inaugural First Cats Family Welcome so memorable.

The 2020 First Cats Family Welcome will be a virtual and on-line event via zoom and open to ALL students and supporters. Find more details here.

The First Cats Professional Development Series is an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your skills to support First Cats.

In Spring of 2020 and Summer of 2020, First Cats offers professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and community members to learn about First Cats experiences at the UA, gain knowledge about the dynamic first-generation college community at national and local levels, and practice asset-based approaches to supporting First Cats at UA. Professional development trainings are now offered as a First-Gen Introductory session and hosted by Thrive Center-First Cats staff. Sign Up Today! Note: As of March 2020, Spring and Summer 2020 professional development trainings will be offered via Zoom in an online platform.

For opportunities to collaborate as an individual, office, department, or college, please email the First Cats Initiatives Manager, Victoria Navarro Benavides, at vnbenavides@email.arizona.edu.

We host a campus-wide First Cats Mixer every semester in order to promote First Cats pride and awareness. The First Cats Mixer features speakers, student testimonials, networking, and community building.

Our last First Cats Mixer took place on January 29, 2020 from 2:30pm-4pm in the Student Union Memorial Center, Kachina Lounge. Thank you to all those who attended. Please be sure to check out our Facebook Page to see photos from this memorable event. Facebook: UAFirstCats
