Your Plan for Success
Thrive Center strives to support all students as they navigate the transitions to and through college. Here is a handy list of important steps to take each year, and when to take them. You can also get a personal program plan to add to your Cat Cloud to track your progress.
A peer mentor is an experienced student who can help you connect with campus and maximize your potential. Use the plan below to ensure you are on track. You can also sign up for a free peer mentor, and they will include these steps in their one-on-one meetings with you. 😉
August & September
Attend Thrive Treks
Join us as we embark on guided treks, led by peer mentors, to explore the different locations and resources on and off campus. Sometimes you want to try something, but maybe just don't feel comfortable going in on your own. So we don't just drop you off, we take you inside, help you register, or demonstrate how you can make the most of the space and resources. It's like having an older sibling show you around. Come ready to explore and ask questions. You can register, or just show up at Thrive Center when the trek is scheduled to start.
Register for Peer Mentoring
You don't have to figure this out on your own. In Thrive Center we have peer mentors available to meet with you one-on-one and help you connect with resources, other students, and strategies to be a successful college student. We pair you with a mentor based on your preference (identity, major, high school, etc.) to ensure a good connection. You'll also become familiar with professional staff who can also help you.
Meet with Financial Wellness
The Financial Wellness team, located in Thrive Center, is your resource for all things financial. Set up a Cost of Attendance meeting and the team will go over your actual costs, using charges in your Bursar account, and pair that with your anticipated financial aid and scholarships to show you how to make a plan to cover your costs.
